Macy’s Great American Marching Band in New York, NY
2019 brought a new kind of event, being the official event photographer for a Marching Band in the Macy’s Day Parade. Not just any band though… the MGAMB.
Following the band over the course of practices and fun during a grueling 6 days. From arrivals and fittings through all practices, and a very early 1am rise and shine on parade day, it was definitely quite the job to photograph. Netting nearly 2,500 final photos that included candid photos from every event throughout all days, and even formal photos of most of the participants prior to the parade.
As the band lined up in the staging area we were greeted by many celebrities, even getting a chance to interact with Jimmy Fallon and the band Chicago among others. Everyone was in a huge festive mood.
The trek down NYC streets among millions of spectators was a fast paced experience like none other.
