Black Coffee from Columbus, Ohio
Photoshoot at The Electric Company in Mansfield, Ohio on July 12th, 2018.
Caught up with the guys from Black Coffee at the unofficial pre-show for INKcarceration. They had a different set plan than last time, playing quite a few covers (and killing it).
The lighting was lacking front light after I started snapping, so I only snapped off a couple dozen shots, converting them to black and white giving the photos a gritty rock ‘n roll feel.
The great thing with an informal photo shoot is the fact you do not need a certain photo yield. When normally needing 36+ photos for an article, you cannot stray too far from the norm, as the experimental shots may not turn out. Surprisingly, most of my experimental shots turn out as intended, not that it makes them good, just that I get what I shot.
One weird thing when shooting at higher speeds is the banding you will get due to LED spot refresh rates. You can see it in the photo below, and this happens mostly around 1/1250.
